Friday Favourites: 17-23 March

Happy Friday! Looking back on the past week, I share my favourites: things I enjoyed to watch, listen to, play, and eat.

1. Watch: Season Finale of Big Little Lies

I watched the season finale of Season 1 of Big Little Lies, “You Get What You Need”, this morning. Like the series, the season finale was amazing! Most of the loose ends were tied up. For instance, I found out who died and how it happened. It wasn’t at all what I expected; therefore I can assure you that Big Little Lies really isn’t predictable (at least not to me). The episode’s last song, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” by Ituana, was great, and its lyrics are quite inspiring:

You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you might find
You get what you need

Season 2 will only be released in 2019, unfortunately.

2. Play: The Sims Mobile

I am a huge Sims fans, so, of course, I was super excited to discover The Sims Mobile! I’ve been playing it every day since I downloaded it on Monday.

The Sims Mobile is a free life simulation game based on The Sims 4 and The Sims FreePlay. You customize your Sims’ appearances, design and personalise your Sims’ house, and guide the stories of your Sims’ lives from careers and hobbies to relationships and families. As in The Sims 4, you can explore your town and visit other Sims.

3. Socialise: Old Cape Café

On Tuesday evening, my friends and I went to Old Cape Café in Gordon’s Bay after playing cricket on the beach (I sucked, but it was fun, at least). The café is a quaint venue on Beach Road with cosy indoor seating and a veranda. What makes this café special is that there is a selection of board games customers can use, from playing cards to Cluedo. Our group played Uno – a simple game, but always fun, especially with a group of six.

4. Eat: Woolworths Café

Earlier this week, my mother treated me to lunch at Woolworth’s cafe. We had food from the harvest table which serves wholesome home cooking at a very good price. I drank a vanilla & cinnamon cappuccino and my mother had an iced mocha – and both were truly delicious! Other delicious drinks include the honey & nut latte, the dirty chai latte and the caramel and roasted peanut butter smoothie.

Listen: Hillsong favourites

I love listening to Hillsong’s music! This week, I’ve mostly been listening to Hillsong United’s latest album, Wonder, released last year. My favourites on the album are “Shadow Step”, “Wonder”, “Not Today” and “Rain/Reign”.

Another Hillsong song I listen to frequently is Hillsong Young & Free’s “This Is Living”:

See the sun now bursting through the clouds
Black and white turns to colour all around
All is new, in the Savior I am found
This is living now
